The Last Night of the Bexhill Proms with the Sussex Concert Orchestra at the De La Warr Pavilion – Sunday July 9

and guest soprano soloist Helen Bailey.

The first half of the evening will be a trip to the magical world of Vienna featuring music by Johann Strauss and Frank Lehar and will include The Blue Danube, Radetzky March, Thunder and Lightning and music from The Merry Widow.

After the interval it’s time to wave your flags and sing along to all the prom favourites including I Vow to Thee My Country, Fantasia on Sea Songs, Jerusalem and Auld Lang Syne! Union flags are available on the evening.

British lyric soprano, Helen Bailey, trained at Trinity College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, and Royal Academy Opera.

Recent performances include the title role of Jenůfa (Midsummer Opera) and Micaëla in Carmen (Opera South East). Future operatic roles include Gerhilde (Die Walküre, London Opera Group), Magda (La Rondine, Midsummer Opera), and Erste adelige Waise/cover Sophie (Der Rosenkavelier, Saffron Opera Group). Helen also enjoys a busy concert schedule, with forthcoming engagements including an opera gala at Thornden Hall and Verdi’s Requiem with Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra.
