Welcome to The Bexhill Festival of Music 2022

Having lost two years to Covid-19, this will be our fourteenth year of the Bexhill Festival of Music. This programme is full of events celebrating live music, local talent, mixed in with nationally and internationally renowned performers, all in local venues within the town.

We are delighted and proud to welcome the Bexhill Sinfonietta into our Festival family. They will get us off to a cracking start with the opening concert – see inside for further details.

As well as welcoming back the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to the De La Warr Pavilion and Richard Durrantto St Peter’s Church, we particularly welcome theRude Mechanical Theatre Company to our Festival this year. They will be performing their outdoor musical theatre “Gods and Dogs” in Egerton Park – see inside for further details. A big welcome also to Mike Hatchard, who will feature with one of his Jazz Breakfasts in the Manor Barn and an evening performance in St Stephen’s Church Hall.

The Sussex Concert Orchestra returns with a concert in St Barnabas Church. It will also feature in our Last Night of the Bexhill Proms, which will bring our Festival to a rousing conclusion.

This Festival is committed to supporting music for our younger generations. So, the Schools Summer Big Sing returns – where our local schools and colleges come together for an evening of music and singing. Our thanks extend to the De La Warr Pavilion, the Bexhill Lions andClaremont IndependentSchool for their support.

We thank the advertisers in this programme, an important income stream for the Festival. Further thanks are extended to Rother District Council, Gaby Hardwicke and McPhersons for their continued support.

So here we go, a Festival full of music for all tastes. Join in and enjoy!

Here’s to a happier, safer, musical future...
