SUMMARY:ContraBand Big Band: An Evening of Swing and Latin Numbers
DESCRIPTION:ContraBand continues to be a 17 piece big band playing swing jazz\, Latin and other styles of music. We have been in our current formation since Covid. We rehearse weekly and have enjoyed gigging last year both indoors and also outdoors on bandstands. \nWe are delighted to be involved with the festival again and this year are raising money for The Parkinson’s Foundation. \nInformation from Ronnie Parker (bandleader) on 07973 703053. DESCRIPTION:The Bexhill Classical Guitar Society is back this year and kicking off the festival with a recital by the multi-award-winning Scottish guitarist Ian Watt. Described by Classical Guitar Magazine as “a guitarist of outstanding skill and originality”\, he has performed concertos with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra\, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra\, City of London Sinfonia\, and Scottish Philharmonic Orchestra\, and his playing has been broadcast on BBC Radio 2\, BBC Radio 3\, BBC Radio Scotland\, Classic FM\, NDR Radio (Germany)\, and WSMC Radio (USA). \nThe event is free to enter\, with donations requested to help support the society. SUMMARY:'Quattro' Sax Quartet in the Bexhill Beach Garden
DESCRIPTION:The Bexhill Beach Garden will be having its second anniversary on the 7th June. The garden was designed to enable the physically vulnerable and family members of our community to access the beach\, and enjoy being close to the sea. It is an asset to the town\, and is a very special community space. The garden demonstrates the wonderful flora and fauna found along our coastline\, and how it contributes to the biodiversity of our planet. It also helps to reduce coastal erosion\, and contributes to the wellbeing of everyone who uses the garden. ‘Quattro’\, are a saxophone quartet who are delighted to offer an afternoon of music starting at 2pm. Refreshments available !! Let’s hope it’s a beautiful\, sunny day\, when the garden will be the ideal space to enjoy an afternoon of musical entertainment. \nWe look forward to welcoming you.

He has performed at many prestigious venues around the world\, including the Southbank Centre\, Wigmore Hall and the NCH Dublin\, as well as regularly broadcasting on BBC Radio 3\, Classic FM and Radio France. He holds teaching positions at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and Charterhouse School. \nCoffee & Cake 10am\, Concert begins 10.30am. Free event with donations in aid of the organ fund.
