From Bach to Betjeman, a feast of music and poetry 

St Peter’s Church, Church Street, Bexhill-on-Sea TN40 2HE

An all female group of singers who, since forming, have enjoyed amazing success. They regularly appear in St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden. The Sussex Song Makers will present a programme of not just vocal ensembles and solos, but also complimentary poetry.

From the music of Purcell, Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Faure, Seiber, Carrisimi and Caldara, to the poems of Byron, Keats, Walter de la Mare and John Betjeman, a programme to suit all tastes.

The accompanist is Jennie Beckwith. The reader will be Nicholas Chisholm, MBE (past director of the Yehudi Menuhin School). The Music Director is Elizabeth Muir-Lewis ARCM, Hon ARAM, Hon LARAM. Elizabeth, an international singer, and conductor (Conducting and founding Eastbourne Choral Society) had the inspiration to mix poetry with music, a combination that has been popular. Come to this beautiful church to enjoy a Feast of Music and Poetry!
